Town of Indian Head gets rail trail plaza grant

Bicyclists ride along the Indian Head Rail Trail earlier this year. The town of Indian Head received a grant to make improvements at the head of the trail in town. The town hopes to add public bathrooms, a picnic shelter, a playground and an information booth.

A plan for a trailhead plaza for the Indian Head Rail Trail has gotten
a boost thanks to a grant from the Southern Maryland Heritage Area
Consortium, as have planned interpretive signs and a master plan
for Chapman State Park.
