Here is a great video from TED Talks which inspires possibilities. See simple apps developed to empower citizens to solve everyday local community problems. Feels like a game and creates a great sense of ownership for everyday people. Not politics, but government by the people, for the people. It's how you can use your hands as well as your voice.

Ideas from the Feb 15 Meeting: Budget
Thanks to all who attended the meeting. We welcome all comments.
The main outcome of the meeting was a proposal that the Town provide a budget to the EDC for to develop content and social media connections for the Town web site. We will have a breakout session on Thursday, Feb 23 noon to 2pm to draft our ideas for how the money will be spent. We will need to develop an RFP for content development so we need to lay out an outline of what we want to see on the web site. All commission members and interested citizens, especially business owners are encouraged to attend. We will order pizza so let me know if you are coming. I will send a calendar invitation via gmail soon. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the message we are sending out into the world as we represent Indian Head. Also, even if you cannot come, please share info you think we should be sure to include. Check out other small town web sites and social media and gather ideas to share. Thank you!
